Thank you Dominic for making such a wonderful difference to my life with Tai Chi.

Since starting your classes a year ago, I could feel a change to my physical and mental well being within a couple of months. The gentle, relaxing exercises were perfect for me and being in a class with other people of varying ages and levels of Tai Chi I really enjoyed the atmosphere and looked forward to coming to your classes each week.

I loved being able to gain confidence in my ability and improve my health at the same time. It really helped with the lower body and leg strength but also it helped with my stress levels. A big plus was losing the weight I had put on after having suffered from a prolapsed disc which left me feeling I would never regain my full strength or be pain free. Tai Chi has changed so much for me. I now feel more grounded and confident and, thankfully no longer suffer from the pain I had for over a year.

I look forward to returning in 2017 for the start of a new year and the Master Class in March with Sufi Andy James. A big step up from being a beginner only a year ago.

Dominic,

Just to let you know that yesterday my chiropractor advised me that, after 9 years of monthly appointments, I should now attend at 3 monthly intervals. 

This is directly because of the improvement in the function of my lower back muscles. These were badly strained nearly 56 years ago. Due to the general T’ai Chi exercises and your particular relaxation techniques, I am in a lot less pain and can move more freely.

qigong Feedback from a class in Newcastle

These are all from students from the class – some named, some not…

The Mon morning class is easy for beginners to access even though some members have been going for several years. It feels calm and peaceful at the time, and leads to feeling refreshed afterwards. Dominic demonstrates the movements in a straightforward way with lots of helpful explanation and also very interesting background information. As one of the beginners, I am aware that others who are more experienced with the movements are able to focus on improving them and get them more automatic, as well as go into more depth by focussing more on the breathing and visualisation. So it is a class which amazingly can cope with people with different levels of experience all together. Julia

I am quite new to Qigong—-but from the very first time of attending the class, my mind was totally absorbed by the moves—-and I was especially impressed when I heard from the group that some of them have been attending Dominic’s class for years! There is no better endorsment than that.  Nadia

Speaking generally about Qi Gong and without  reference to our particular group and its timing, I would say the following – The Qi Gong I do with you makes me concentrate on myself and how I feel both generally and in response to the movements. It gives me an energy fix, without the calories which come with a bar of chocolate! It does not exhaust me but I always end the class feeling better than when I started and with a positive attitude.

After the class I feel full of energy, centred and calm, this lasts usually for several days depending of course on what else is going on! Over the few years I have been doing QG I have felt far more supple in body and fit and healthy generally and have lost some weight. Along with meditation I think my awareness has increased doing QG too. Hope this helps!

 I have found the Qigong classes in Gosforth run by Dominic extremely beneficial. The exercise is gentle but positive. I have been diagnosed with blood cancer and am unable to do more strenuous activities so I have found Qigong particularly suitable. I would recommend it to anyone however – fit or with health problems.  Ellie Brown

 I find that my body feels more flexible and alive after the qigong class. I am sure it helps develop stamina and as I am not a keen exerciser it is a kind, gentle way of caring for my body.  It also helps that the teacher creates a non-competitive, enjoyable atmosphere which Dominic does!!

The two classes I’ve attended have been amazing!  Talk about chi energy being released!  After a tough year I felt that my first class with you unblocked so much stuff and I’ve been warm from the inside out ever since!  
 
I really like the pace of your class – (I’ve attended too many classes where it feels like you’re being fast-tracked through the process and then I often get the sinking feeling that I’m not doing it properly), so the way you explain everything and the relaxed pace is perfect for me, I really believe your way of teaching is a confidence builder.
 
Oh – one more thing, I’m noticing when I’m moving with fluidity and when I’m moving in a tense staccato way, after only two classes I’m already wanting to move with more ease and flow! Thanks Dominic.

Hope you’re all well.
Yesterday I went to the Therapy Centre in Hexham for a Shiatsu treatment with Dominic Cleary.  The whole experience was so good I thought you might want to know about it.
 
The Therapy Centre is the largest in the N of England, and apparently it’s been open a couple of months or so.  The large building itself is interesting too; it was an old workhouse.  The space I was in was really calm and pleasant, and the cafe with home-made soups, cakes, as well as peace and love, was funky.  It’s in Corbridge Rd opposite the hospital. www.therapycentrehexham.com
 
Some of you may remember that I was really into Tai Chi and Qigong; that’s my connection here: I have learned those with Dominic over the past 12 years.  He’s doing 2 for 1 on Shiatsu until the end of June.  Shiatsu’s good for any musculo-skeletal twinges or injuries, and lots else too.  Those legions building the Wall could really have done with this place.

This forwarded email is from a medical student who spent some time learning about complementary therapies, including shiatsu. It was forwarded by a fellow teacher on the course:

 Hi, Liz! Hope you are doing well!  I wanted to let you know I mentioned your SSC to a medical student who is interested in being a GP and she seems really interested. She also had a baby this year. I told her we were able to see patients which was very helpful and that I’ve been able to use my knowledge this year. I can’t remember if I told you but I was able to use shiatsu pressure technique on a person in incredible pain who was panicking so much the nurses couldn’t give the pain meds. The technique worked to stop the panic. I was thanked by patient and nurses. It was a good feeling!
